Here is the set list and comments. Wampum Prayer opened the show per usual for this tour....then led into the curtains opening and Tori at the piano with a sorta fairytale this was beautiful for sure and the music overtook me and the view of the stage right in front of me, I was taking in the atmosphere of Sage and stillness and the piano, when I noticed that the bass was a little heavy and the drums would often overshadow the music throughout the show, but it was still great... Juarez during this song I was taking in by Tori herself. She was so beautiful. Like any good female, she knows how to make the best of her self in each situation and went from adorable girl in her camoflauge blue knickers before the show to the magical flowing woman in the purple zebra printed komono over jeans and black heeled boots. Past The Mission During this song, everything was so underway and I was hooked into the moment so much. She would keep looking to where my friend and I were sitting and OMG, we made this eye contact and I smiled and she smiled and WOW, that was awesome. Here's how I put it...it was like a conversation between Tori and I, I would listen to the music, the piano, the words and she would read my mind and I would create those words in my head to apply to myself and my feelings and she would respond to that by continuing to play and sharing hers....wow, it was such a great connection.... After this song, Tori spoke for the only time during the night by saying that they were going to have to leave Florida and that Tash keeps saying "Mommy, I 'm staying..." And of course, everyone clapped to indicate them wanting her to stay too!!! I love when Tori speaks, and I did want to hear more, but she spoke in her own way, by singing.... Cornflake Girl This song is so fun....we were both singing along. We looked at each other when she said..."this is not really happening....you bet your life it is" and we meant that about being 10 feet from Tori all night.... Mrs. Jesus Brought the mood down a bit, but very sweet to hear. Sweet Sangria Can't you just hear it....was so in that Tori Zone.... Take To The Sky Not as much energy as the last time I saw her play this, but very cool. Very very cool. Wednesday This brought the energy back up, then the lights went down, the band left and Tori put on some lipgloss and drank some water in the dark. But I could see all that because I was so dang close!!!... Silent All These Years The red and black lettered "Roadside Cafe" sign comes down and the boys leave....This song was so emotional, so mellow and pretty. I got chills all over my arms.... Not The Red Baron I am not as familiar with this song but it was really really good. Daniel This was the cover of Elton John's "Daniel". It was very very pretty, melodic, but not my favorite cover. I truly loved when she covered "Landslide" and still want to hear her do "Lovesong" but she played it perfectly. Every note. Band returns They slipped in really quietly, I hardly noticed even from where I sat and they played 1000 Oceans That song makes me so sad. My mood really went from this high to this mellow introspective settling in my soul. Tori has a way of really doing that to me...making me feel sooooo good and then reallly low...but low in a warm way. Glory Of The 80's This song was so good. Never heard it before really and really found it great. Liquid Diamonds Wow. You just had to move to the song. There is such a rhythm to it that is so deep and moving..... Pancake I recognized this right away as what it was....she seemed to smile a lot here...or maybe it was just my imagination. I loved seeing her cat-like smile build up to a big grin.... Caught A Lite Sneeze This one was for my friend. We had been really into this song as of late and it meant so much to hear it together like that. Can't you just hear it? I Can't See New York This one you have heard me review before was very long as the song is long, but the way the lights are and you really feel like you are in this cloud state falling down, it is amazing. And when she sings "I know his lips are warm.." you want to melt away.... Iieee This one was so good in concert....it so rocked!!!! She used this little keyboard that sat on top of the Bosey and it was cool...made different sounds. Also noticed on one or two of the songs, her background vocals of herself were plugged in. So, you kind of got the same feel like on the album - the full sound of the back-ups. I can't remember which song that was in particular... Then she leaves....we never touched her hands or anything, but she waves bye. And we rush to the stage.... |
